Wine can be complicated... Wine education shouldn't be.

This course is delivered in 4 modules:      

Module 1:  Introduction to Wine

- What is Wine

- Short History of Wine

- Types and Styles

Module 2: Influence on Style

- Climate and Site

- Grape Varietal and Viniculture

- Winemaking

Module 3: Wine Tasting 

- Tasting Wine

- Storing and Serving

- Food and Wine Pairing

Module 4: The World's Great Wine Regions

- Old World: Portugal, France, Italy, Spain

- New World: USA, Australia, South America

- Wine Labels 

Certification (OPTIONAL)

Students have the option to do the Pour Choices Introduction to the World of Wine certification exam.  The exam consist of 15 multiple choice questions all from material covered during the course and a simple tasting exam of 1 wine.  Any candidate that passes the exam with a minimum score of 55% will receive an honorary Pour Choices Certificate as well as a 5€ discount code to be applied to future study (discount codes are transferable and can be given to other prospective students)

09:30 - 17:00 only on Saturdays

1 hour lunch break from 1-2pm (NOTE: some food will be provided for food and wine pairing exercise, however lunch is not included.  Participants are encouraged to bring lunch with them, alternatively there are several options to purchase food near the campus)  

17:00 - 17:30 Pour Choices Certification Exam (OPTIONAL)

220€ for the course including wine tastings and food pairing 

10€ for optional certification    

Tasting glasses will be provided.  Students are encouraged to bring notepads/paper/laptops for taking notes as they will not be provided.
